Common vision problems:
Myopia
Myopia, or short-sightedness, is when you struggle to see clearly in the distance, but you can see better up close. Myopia is usually a result of the eye being slightly too long, which means that rather than light focusing directly on the retina, it focuses in front of the retina and produces a blurry image in the distance. Myopia can be corrected using spectacles, and contact lenses.
Hyperopia
Hyperopia or long-sightedness, is when you struggle to see clearly up close, but you can see better in the distance. Hyperopia is usually the result of the eye being slightly too short, hence light focuses behind the retina, instead of directly on it. Hyperopia can be corrected using spectacles, and contact lenses.
Astigmatism
Astigmatism indicates that the eye is more like a rugby ball shape. Astigmatism can affect you both far and up close, and often causes eyestrain. Astigmatism can be corrected using spectacles, and contact lenses.
Presbyopia
Presbyopia usually occurs when we reach our early 40s. The lens within our eyes lose flexibility, making it more difficult to focus on objects/text at a close distance. Presbyopia can be corrected using spectacles, and contact lenses.
